UltraScan Medical Diagnostic Imaging

  For X-Ray Testing

• No Special Preparation is Required for most of the X-Ray Tests.
• Please bring your requisition and your Ontario Health Card (OHIP) with you to your exam. 
• Please do not bring valuables such as jewelry or credit cards.

Obstetrical Ultrasound

Less than 12 Weeks 

 Drink 1 L (1000mL) of water, finishing it 1 hour before your appointment time. 

 Do not void – you will need a full bladder for your appointment.

12-18 Weeks 

 Drink 500mL of water, finishing it 1 hour before your appointment time 

 Do not void – you will need a full bladder for your appointment.

20+ weeks

 Drink 500mL of water, finishing it 1 hour before your appointment time 

 Do not void – you will need a full bladder for your appointment.

Abdomen Ultrasound

•  Wear comfortable clothes.
•  For morning appointment: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before the exam. Eat a fat-free dinner the night before (no dairy or fried foods).
• For afternoon appointment: Nothing to eat or drink 6 hours before the exam. You are allowed a light breakfast of toast, coffee or tea (no dairy products or fried foods).
•  Please arrive 15 minutes early, bring your requisition and your Health Card.
